WakeAEYC is dedicated to serving the professionals who live and/or work in Wake County, North Carolina.  WakeAEYC board structure is completely comprised of volunteers who meet on an on-going basis to provide support to our members as well as assist NCAEYC and NAEYC in meeting their organizational goals.



žWakeAEYC is committed to working with or on behalf of early childhood professionals who work or live in Wake County, NC for the benefit of Wake County’s children.


WakeAEYC works towards the goal that all Wake County children will be unconditionally valued and offered high quality early childhood experiences.

WakeAEYC’s Guiding Principles:

In order to accomplish WakeAEYC’s mission as the voice of professionals who work directly with or on behalf of children birth through age eight, we value the importance of:

  • A commitment to excellence in early care and education

  • Dedication and enthusiasm with which our members approach their work

  • Respect for diverse viewpoints and perspectives; open dialogue; and the need to build consensus on critical issues

  • A strong organizational structure (governance, communication, financial base, state office staff, and facility) to provide leadership, coordination, and services

  • A commitment to providing our members high quality professional experiences (both networking and professional learning)

  • A commitment to advocating on an behalf of young children and the early childhood field through our communication with our membership and the public



WakeAEYC is excited to announce and share our new Organization Bylaws!  Approved by our members, the Board will now operate with a shared leadership model, reflected in our bylaws and Board structure.
